Shannon, a native Houstonian, is a New York City based fifth-generation Duncan dancer. She holds a BFA in Dance from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. She has attended summer intensives with Dances by Isadora and the Isadora Duncan International Symposium. Shannon has extensive training in the Erick Hawkins technique in conjunction to her Duncan training.

 

Shannon began studying the Duncan technique in 2014 from fourth-generation Duncan dancer, Meg Brooker. Her main master teachers are Catherine Gallant, Loretta Thomas, and Beth Jucovy. She is a dancer for Dances by Isadora under direction of Catherine Gallant and an apprentice for Dance Visions NY under direction of Beth Jucovy. Shannon has received additional Duncan training from the likes of, Jennifer Sprowl, Julia Pond, Valerie Durham, and Jeanne Bresciani. In June 2016 as a part of Danspace Projects, Shannon performed “Presto” choreographed by Loretta Thomas at St. Marks Church in-the-Bowery with Dances by Isadora and Catherine Gallant/DANCE.


Shannon is a previous company member and collaborator with L E M I Collective, a contemporary and improvisational dance company. She has performed at various festivals throughout the New York City area including: Queensboro Dance Festival, Biomorphic Dance Festival, Gibney Dance Pop Showing, and Northside Festival.
